Distribution
Thanks to you, The Breast Cancer Society, for your generous donation of the Gardasil Vaccine. As you indicated in your letter regarding usage of this donation, Rural Women’s Initiative for Development and Empowerment (RUWIDE), working with the Ministry of Health in Ghana, will be using the Gardasil vaccine to protect 32,000 young girls between 9 years old and 13 years old from HPV which can also cause breast cancer.
HPV can be prevented with the Gardasil Vaccine. This Vaccine is given in three doses and the first dose is being administered now. The second and third doses will be administered at 6 month intervals.
As a result of this vaccination program, thousands of adolescent girls will be protected from HPV that can result in breast cancer. Also, local hospitals and clinics that treat breast cancer and other cancer related illnesses will have gained knowledge and experience in how to conduct a successful vaccination program.
Thanks again, The Breast Cancer Society, because of your support we will improve the lives of many adolescent girls that without your help wouldn’t have the opportunity to live breast cancer free and give them hope for a healthier future.
