Breast Cancer Risks

All women have some risk of developing breast cancer. While obesity and drinking can increase a woman’s risk, simply leading a healthy lifestyle does not mean that you absolutely will not get the disease. Young women aren’t immune, so self exams should begin by the time they reach the age of 20.

Men can also get breast cancer. It’s true that women are about 100 times more likely to get the disease, but the fact is that men can develop breast cancer, too. That’s why it’s important for everyone to know the facts about breast cancer so they can stay vigilant and identify the disease in its earliest stages.
